About me

Language is my trade –
and my passion
Since completing my Master's degree in Conference Interpreting in 2017, I have worked as a freelance conference interpreter, speech-to-text interpreter, and live subtitler across a variety of sectors.
I feel at home wherever people are talking, whether that's at international conferences, live events, in politics, business or culture, or on television.
My goal, whether I am interpreting simultaneously, live subtitling or working as a speech-to-text interpreter, is always to help people understand each other, regardless of language or hearing ability.
What I stand for
Language has the power to connect people, but it can also exclude them. That's why I'm committed to the issues that matter to me.
Sustainability & environmental protection:
-
Long-standing member of Germany's largest nature and environmental protection association Friends of the Earth Germany
-
In the Berlin Mobility Working Group
Inclusion & accessibility:
-
Live subtitling and speech-to-text interpreting at events for deaf and hard of hearing people..
-
I have been part of the live subtitling team at public broadcaster Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb) for many years, bringing spoken language to the screen in real time.
Professional policy & further training:
-
Former training coordinator at the Association of Conference Interpreters (VKD im BDÜ e.V.), because I believe that ‘you never stop learning’.
-
Part of the Berlin Initiative for Good Interpreting, which campaigns for better conditions and professionalisation in the field of community interpreting (including interpreting for the police, authorities, in court, etc.).
Theatre & language:
-
Member of Drama Panorama e.V. (association for theatre and translation).
-
Master's thesis on the subject of theatre interpreting.
I am interested in politics: and for me, it's always about bringing people together and facilitating understanding, whether in the interpreting booth, in front of the screen or at an event.
